Make a Shift Dress
Duration: the course lasts for 4 sessions, each one is two hours long.

Do you find it hard to buy or make a dress that fits in all the important places?
You can:

Make a dress in four sessions.

Learn how to fit the pattern.

Learn how to stitch neat darts, seams, facings, zips and hems.

Come and make it in the spring, all ready for the summer!

We’ll be using a commercial pattern, Simplicity 8253. Buy your pattern, fabric and notions in advance.
In the first session, you’ll adjust your pattern to fit.
In the second, you’ll cut out the fabric and interfacing.
In the third, you’ll assemble the dress, fit it and make any adjustments.
In the fourth, you’ll finish facings and hem, and it’s ready to go!
We'll email you details of what materials you need to bring.
Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided, feel free to bring your own snacks.
